Delete your account
You can delete your Family Tracker account from inside the app, without asking anyone and without writing to us. This page explains where the button is and what it removes.
In the app
- Open the app and go to Menu.
- Choose Delete account.
- Confirm. The account and the data below are removed.
What is deleted
Deletion takes effect immediately in the app and is completed on our servers within 30 days. Records we are required to keep for tax or legal reasons are the only exception, and they contain no location data.
- Your profile: name, photo, phone number or email address.
- Your location data: last known position and all location history.
- Your membership of every circle, your check-ins and your saved places.
- Your push-notification tokens, so notifications stop.
What happens to the circle
You disappear from the map for everyone in it, and your history goes with you. A circle you created continues without you if other people are still in it. Nobody else's data is deleted by your deletion.
If you only want to stop sharing
Deleting is not the only option. You can pause sharing and stay in the circle, which shows the others a paused label instead of a position, or leave a single circle and keep your account. Both are in the app, and neither needs anyone's permission.
If you cannot reach the app
Write to support@familylocator.co from the address or with the phone number on the account, and we will delete it for you.
